Gov. Evan Mecham kept Arizonans waiting until the last minute Saturday to learn whether he will resign or try to keep his post in a recall election.
Mecham's decision was to be revealed when Secretary of State Rose Mofford unsealed a letter delivered by the governor on Friday evening, with a note that it was to be opened at 8 p.m. EST Saturday.
