BRISBANE, Aug 14 AAP - Quest, Australia's largest serviced apartments group, will openits doors in Fiji next year.

The Australian-owned group has 80 properties in Australia and New Zealand and the Suvaproperty is the first outside the two countries.

Quest chairman Paul Constantinou said the property would be primarily targeted to businesstravellers, offering 33 4-star fully self-contained studio and one-bedroom apartments.

"This is consistent with our growth strategy - provide serviced apartments where demanddictates - and that includes the South Pacific islands," he said in a statement.

"There is steady business traffic to Fiji from New Zealand and Australia which is alreadyfamiliar with the Quest brand, so we expect high patronage from our guest base."

The serviced apartments are to be contained in a $30 million 12-level office developmentbeing built by Suva Central Ltd (a joint venture of Colonial Life and Motibhai Group ofCompanies).

Quest has a lease to operate the serviced apartments and construction is due for completionin April 2004.

The group operates more than 3,500 rooms in real estate valued more than $700 million.
