FED: Fischer takes outback tour to the top end

NHULUNBUY, NT, Jan 14 AAP - Acting Prime Minister Tim Fischer will today take his outback
tour to the Top End, visiting a major mining operation at Gove before moving on to Mount Isa
and the Whitsunday coast.

Mr Fischer will start day three of his four-day Outback Outreach tour with a visit to the
Nabalco bauxite mine at Gove in the Northern Territory.

He will also meet with traditional land owners at the mine. From there he will fly to Mount
Isa where he will meet with the local council and State Emergency Services (SES) workers and
